With a blend of dynamic, soulful original songs and fun, funky covers, The Vertical Birds have started to turn heads as one of the most dynamic bands in the east Tennessee area. Their sound could be described as 70's soul underpinnings superimposed with folksy singer-songwriter, blues, and jazz vibes. The music is "loaded with intense feeling," says Roadie Music. And, it is often "reminiscent of Chris Stapleton's vibrancy," says The B-Side Guys. Ever in demand, when they’re not playing their own shows on the local club and festival scene, the guys are frequently called on for studio work and can be found moonlighting for several of the area's finest artists, such as Victoria Flowers, Kirk Fleta, Marci Pace, Nick Horner, The Alternates, and many others. With a history of Classical and Jazz education, and with years of experience in Blues, Funk, Country, and Bluegrass bands, The Vertical Birds’ arrangements tie it all together to create a unique “rootsy” sound that is truly their own. They have several studio and live performances on their YouTube Channel, they've released two songs on all music streaming platforms, and they are in the midst of recording their debut album, set to release this summer.
