The Mentor Program will allow students access to some of Knoxville’s top talent and arts institutions for hands-on training, seminars and job-shadowing. They’ll be able to learn from local industry professionals what possible careers exist within the arts, as well as what a career might look like in their area of study. This program is open to students in grades 5-12, with two tiers specially designed for students.

The deadline to apply is August 15th.

5th-8th Grade Students: General Theatre Seminar Series

The General Theatre Seminar Series is built to engage students with the various arts careers that are available across the industry. Students will meet three (3) times throughout the school year at separate arts institutions to learn about how each space operates through the unique opportunities available at each one. This allows each student a comprehensive look into the varied areas of theatre and how to best find an area that speaks to them. This is the only available option for students in 5th-8th grade.

9th-12th Students: Mentoring

This is available to incoming 9th through 12th grade students. This pairs a student with a local industry professional in the area of study of their choice. Students and mentors make their own schedule, as each area is unique. This allows pairs open freedom in terms of scheduling, as well as to best showcase their area of study. Students and Mentors will meet with Theatre staff at least once a semester (once in Fall and once in Spring) via Zoom to check in.
