Learn these details and more about the history, performances, and complete renovation of the Official State Theatre of Tennessee. You’ll go to areas not usually open to the public, and walk away with a better understanding and appreciation for this architectural and cultural gem.
BASIC TOUR (Select Tuesdays at 11AM, 60-75 minutes, $15 per person) A guided walkthrough featuring the fascinating history, renovation, and performance highlights of the Theatre. Attendees will tour the Grand Lobby, Auditorium, Stage, and Dressing Rooms. All areas are accessible by elevator if needed.
DELUXE TOUR (Select weekdays at 1PM and Saturdays at 11AM and 1PM, 90-100 minutes, $25 per person) An in-depth discovery of the Theatre’s rich history and comprehensive renovation, and its performances, past and present. In addition to the Grand Lobby, Auditorium, Stage, and Dressing Rooms, attendees will visit the projection booth and attic, the fly floor, and learn more about the theatrical equipment that brings the shows to life. Some areas are accessible only by several flights of stairs.
FAMILY TOUR (Select weekdays at 1PM, 60-75 minutes, $15 per person) This tour is designed for families with children under 12 years old. A guided walkthrough featuring fun facts, fascinating history, details about the theatre’s renovation, and the opportunity for kids to try out their “stage voice”. Children will receive an activity page that utilizes what they will learn on the tour and coloring pages to enjoy at home. This one is for the adults, too! All attendees will learn about Knoxville’s Grand Entertainment Palace and will tour the Grand Lobby, Auditorium, Stage, and Dressing Rooms. All areas are accessible by elevator if needed.
