Join us at the historic Tennessee Theatre for an evening celebrating what we’re most thankful for on this Giving Tuesday— theatre.
As a non-profit organization, the Theatre’s mission is to preserve and operate the Official State Theatre of Tennessee as a cornerstone for the arts and for the cultural enrichment and enjoyment of all.
In order to achieve this mission, we host a variety of education and outreach events each year in addition to the touring live performances you see on stage. Join us to learn about programs like the Marquee Awards, Pass the Mic, Summer Camp, Mighty Musical Monday, masterclasses, and more by visiting stations set up throughout the Theatre! We’ll even have the chance for you to experience a dance class on our stage.
This event is free and open to the public.
Join us at noon on Monday, December 4 for a FREE concert you won't want to miss! Mighty Musical Monday will feature House Organist Freddie Brabson on the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, as well as some special guests playing all of your holiday favorites.
Please note that concessions will be available for purchase, and you are welcome to bring your own lunch to the Theatre to enjoy during this event.
Santa is making a special stop at the Tennessee Theatre on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, where he will visit with children on the stage. Each child (or family if multiple children) will have the opportunity to take a picture with Santa in front of the tree on the stage, tell Santa their wish list, and check the naughty or nice list for their names.
We will also have coloring and craft stations available, along with cookie decorating stations. Learn more and reserve your spot here.
Travel back in time and see this 1989 holiday classic as it should be seen: in a historic theater originally built as a movie palace surrounded by other movie-lovers, enjoying some popcorn and a cold (or piping hot!) drink. As the holidays approach, Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) wants to have a perfect family Christmas, so he pesters his wife, Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo), and children, as he tries to make sure everything is in line, including the tree and house decorations. However, things go awry quickly. Cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid) and his family show up unplanned and start living in their camper on the Griswold property. Even worse, Clark's employers renege on the holiday bonus he needs. The movie is 1 hour and 37 minutes long and is rated PG-13.

A life full of music. That’s the story of Ricky Skaggs. By age twenty-one, he was already considered a “recognized master” of one of America’s most demanding art forms, but his career took him in other directions, catapulting him to popularity and success in the mainstream of country music. His life’s path has taken him to various musical genres, from where it all began in bluegrass music, to striking out on new musical journeys, while still leaving his musical roots intact.

Tennessee Theatre is pleased to welcome the public back to the Theatre for holiday classic presented by FirstBank.
In the 1947 classic It's a Wonderful Life, George Bailey has so many problems he is thinking about ending it all - and it's Christmas! As the angels discuss George, we see his life in flashback. As George is about to jump from a bridge, he ends up rescuing his guardian angel, Clarence - who then shows George what his town would have looked like if it hadn't been for all his good deeds over the years. Run time is 1 hour 31 minutes. Tennessee Theatre’s House Organist Freddie Brabson will play before the movie starts.
Free general admission seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
