The MLK Commemorative Commission and KSO invite you to a free concert at the Tennessee Theatre to celebrate 40 years of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy. The KSO is excited to present the music of Florence Price, Scott Joplin, Valerie Coleman, and William Grant Still. The MLK Celebration Choir joins us for a few influential and powerful pieces, including “Praise” and “We Shall Overcome.” The concert is free and open to the public. No tickets are necessary. The performance is presented in support from Knox County Commissioners Terry Hill and Dasha Lundy. 

As of December 1, 2021, any COVID-related protocols or restrictions that apply to ticketholders attending events at the Tennessee Theatre are determined by individual artists/production requirements. It is important to note that this event is requiring that all audience members show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test when entering the event. Regardless of current COVID protocols at the Theatre, this event will adhere to these event-driven requirements. Free parking is available after 6pm in the State Street parking garage located behind the Theatre.
