Thanks for visiting the new Tennessee Theatre website, and welcome to our blog!
When the Tennessee Theatre opened over 86 years ago, the main communication with the public was through newspaper advertisements. Wow, how things have changed! We still advertise in print and broadcast media, but many of our fans learn about events via our website, an e-newsletter (you can sign up for that here) or through social media posts. The internet has become an important method of sharing news and information about the Tennessee Theatre, and we know this new website will enhance your online experience.
This blog will be just another part of that online experience. We’ll use it to share things you wouldn’t normally see on the website – profiles of theatre staff and programs, anecdotes and accolades from performers who have graced the Tennessee stage, behind-the-scenes information about the theatrical or technical equipment, and little known facts about Knoxville’s Grand Entertainment Palace. There’s always something new to discover at the Tennessee Theatre.
As Executive Director of the Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation, I am entrusted with overseeing and guiding the Theatre’s staff, programs, and overall execution of its mission. Together with the board of directors, the foundation staff, and our partner, AC Entertainment, we strive to make your visit to the Tennessee Theatre the very best it can be. Without you, our patrons, the Tennessee Theatre would be a lonely place – so, thank you! I hope you’ll visit the website and blog often to learn more about this treasured movie palace that has become a Knoxville landmark and renowned performance venue. See you at the Tennessee!
